Major Mark Ludlow

Mark LudlowMajor Mark Ludlow has returned to the Battalion after completing a year's SSVC commission with the Black Watch in Northern Ireland. He takes over command of 'G' (The London Scottish) Company from Major K. J. Pearson as from the 11th November 1990.

Mark joined the London Scottish in 1981 after previous service with the City of London Company of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. During his time with 'G' Company he has commanded 4 Platoon at '59', before going on to command 6 Platoon at Eitham, St Mary Cray and Bromley. He has twice led the Battalion team in the Cambrian march patrol competition, and has served on detachment to the Queens Own Highlanders in Belize, as well as exercising with BAOR in Germany on many occasions. His last appointment with 1/51 Highland was as OC Recce platoon.

Whilst with the Watch his principal appointment was as 2IC and Operations officer, B Company, in Armagh, Fermanagh, and South Down.

His first duty upon taking up appointment, was to command a combined guard drawn from The London Scottish, Liverpool Scottish and Black Watch Companies of 1/51 Highland in this years Lord Mayors Show.
